Fruits of my labor

I have been able to plant a garden for the first time in my life. Now being Az one never knows what will really grow or not so I just bought seeds of things I know will get used if it grows. So I have planted carrots, cucumbers, green beans, sugar snap peas, bell peppers, strawberry plants, tomato plants, lettuce, broccoli, beets, corn on the cob, pumpkins, grapes, cantaloupe, and watermelons. All are growing, however my lettuce is not doing as well as others plants, I think they have been drowned but I do have a few that look healthy. My pumpkin plants have started to grow it's first pumpkin and my cucumbers are growing like crazy. We have gotten a few beans and peas, with more starting to mature. I lost several of my pea plants, but I have been told that it is amazing that they are even growing at all since in AZ it is the wrong time for them. I was pulling weeds from my garden the other day and as I was backing out I got the surprise of my life. I saw these two HUGE cucumbers, they had turned yellow they were so big. Now I had checked periodically for cucumbers around nothing even close to being ready. So here is a picture of my cucumbers. There is only one big yellow one left the kids ate the other one before I got the picture, but the one they ate was actually bigger than the one in the pic. They look more like squash than cucumbers.

Blakes Final Race of the Year

Blake's first grade teacher signed her class up for a programs called first steps for kids. It is a program that is designed to encourage kids to exercise and stay fit. After the kids logged so many miles they were all given a pair of running shoes for free, this program is free as well. Throughout the school year they would have races that they could attend and although we missed the first ones we did get to the last three. All the kids were given medals, snacks and drinks as they crossed the finishline. Blake loved doing this and his teacher says no matter what her kids from this year will be able to do it again, she hopes to make this a school wide program for this upcoming school year.

Hailey's Cheer Competition

I signed Hailey up for cheer through YCOA (young champions of America). It is a very low coat program and she loves doing it. Her first semester in cheer they did not make state but they did for her second semester. Which was so exciting for her. They took 4th in her category at state, no surprise there since kids that hadn't shown up for practices or even regionals showed up to participate in state so there were a lot of last min changes. Here is the video I was able to take with my camera. Ok so after letting it sit here all night I couldn't get it to load. So I will just have to throw some picture up from afterwards.

Prom

Ashlyn went to Prom with her boyfriend Nathan, her cousin Chelsey and her date Josh. They had a blast. Here are some photos from that night of the girls and their dates as well as one with Grandpa and his gun. They have both grown into such beautiful young women. You may remember Chelsey she attend camp with Ashlyn.

About Me

My photo
I am a mother of five wonderfully beautiful children. Ages ranging from 4yrs to 16 yrs. I am currently a full time student, majoring in psychology. I am also close to launching my own business, hoping that I will do well in this as raising five children alone is very time consuming all on it's own, let alone trying to find time to hold down a job as well. I love animals, and have 2 cats and a dog (yes that is on top of the five children)! I received my AA in July and started on my BA in Aug.(it seems never-ending). Well that's a good blip for the 'about me' spot the rest I will have to put into post.
